Man charged over pedestrian's crash death
GoogleA man has been charged with death by dangerous driving after a pedestrian was killed in Morecambe just before Christmas.
A 42 year-old man from Lancaster was walking on Ovangle Road on 16 December when he was struck by a black Hyundai. He died on Christmas Day.
John Gavin, 41, of Musk Lane in Dudley, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst disqualified, unlicensed and uninsured, failing to stop, and committing an act with intent to pervert the course of justice.
The car, which had been reported stolen, was later found abandoned a short distance away on Lancaster Road.
