Two more arrests after high street stabbing

Two more people have been arrested after a teenage boy was seriously injured in a stabbing, Surrey Police has said.

The boy remains in hospital after the attack which happened on Sunday, at about 19:30 GMT, in Staines High Street.

On Monday, police said a 16-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a girl, 15, had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has since been released on bail.

Earlier, the force said another 16-year-old boy and a man, 18, had also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remained in custody.

The force is appealing for witnesses who were in the town centre between 18:00 and 20:30 on Sunday.

It is asking anyone with information to submit it via the force's Major Incident Public Portal under Operation Boost or by calling 101.
