Attempted murder arrest over high street stabbing

A boy was taken to hospital following reports of a stabbing, Surrey Police said

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another teenage boy was taken to hospital following reports of a stabbing, police have said.

Surrey Police said the teenage victim suffered serious injuries in the reported stabbing, which happened at about 19:30 GMT on Sunday in Staines High Street.

A 15-year-old girl has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, with both suspects remaining in custody.

A police cordon in the high street has since been lifted. Surrey Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
