A body has been found following a search for a missing kayaker.

Devon and Cornwall Police said concerns were raised for a man, aged in his 40s, who had got into difficulty near the Great Western Bridge over the River Exe in Tiverton, Devon, at about 15:50 GMT on Saturday.

Searches were carried out and a kayak was recovered.

The force said a body was found in the river on Thursday and while formal identification was yet to take place, the missing kayaker's family had been informed.
