Men jailed after caravan site stabbing
Warwickshire PoliceFive men have been jailed after an attack at a caravan site in which a man was stabbed.
Just after midnight on 9 May, a group of men drove to The Griff in Nuneaton and entered a caravan where a man and woman were staying, police said. The woman escaped through a window but the man was stabbed several times.
Following trial, Michael, Thomas and Anthony Galbraith - aged 27, 24 and 21 respectively - were found guilty of attempted murder and making a threat to kill.
At Warwick Crown Court, Michael and Thomas Galbraith were sentenced to 25 years in prison, and Anthony Galbraith 24 years. Two men, convicted of conspiring to pervert the course of justice in connection, were also jailed.
That pair included James Galbraith, aged 49, who was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison, and Thomas McDonagh, aged 54, sentenced to three years and six months.
The two men were charged following a police investigation that was launched when the Warwickshire force, before the trial, received a statement saying the victim had been mistaken when identifying those responsible for the stabbing.
Warwickshire PoliceDet Con Chloe Butcher, the officer in charge of the case, said there had been a "thorough and careful investigation with many complexities".
"We hope these terms provide reassurance to our communities that we will always work tirelessly to identify those responsible for serious violence and ensure they are brought to justice," she added.
