A plan to convert a prominent town centre office building into flats has been approved.

The Beta Building in Kings Road, Reading, was built in the early 1990s but is now vacant.

It was previously owned by Worthing Borough Council and was sold earlier this year to owners Beta Reading Limited, who applied to use it for 44 flats.

Reading Borough Council approved the project last week. It approved a similar project to use Kennet Place, which sits next to it in Kings Road, for 93 flats in October 2024.
