The US pharmaceutical company is creating a new headquarters in Maidenhead

The US pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson has confirmed plans to relocate staff from its Buckinghamshire offices to a new headquarters in Berkshire.

The company said it would unite employees from its Thames Valley campuses in High Wycombe and Pinewood to a new "state-of-the-art" office in Maidenhead, with the move expected to take place in the second half of 2026.

Johnson & Johnson said the relocation would "create new opportunities for our business and help us to better meet the needs of patients and customers".

However, the company did not confirm what would happen to the existing site, how many roles would be based there, or whether any existing jobs will be lost.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the firm said the move was expected to take place in the second half of 2026, with staff remaining in their current locations until then.

It also declined to provide further detail on the reasons behind the relocation, or whether staff would be offered relocation packages or long-term remote-working options.

Further details about the future of the site and the impact on local jobs are expected to emerge closer to the planned move.
