Woman accused of ex-partner's murder set for trial

A 65-year-old woman accused of murdering a former partner is due to go on trial in the summer.

The body of Robert Kellett, 63, was found in a property on Terry Road, High Wycombe on 12 September.

Cheryl Downs, also of Terry Road, has yet to formally enter a plea but has been told by Judge Jonathan Cooper at Aylesbury Crown Court that a trial is scheduled to start on 8 June.

Lawyers told the hearing the trial was expected to last four weeks.

Downs appeared, via video link, for the preliminary hearing.

The judge remanded her in custody and said he aimed to oversee a further pre-trial hearing on 1 June.

The court has been told that Kellett had lived Birmingham.
