Woman, 53, who died in crash named by police

A 53-year-old woman who died in a crash in Aberdeenshire has been named.

Police said Joyann Andrews was in a collision that happened on the A96 near Huntly at about 18:00 on Sunday.

Three other people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with non-serious injuries.

The road was closed for 10 hours after the crash which involved a grey Peugeot 208 and a blue Volkswagen Passat.

Police Scotland said its inquries into the incident were ongoing.

Sgt Dave Cooper from Elgin Road Policing said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died."

He asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has dashcam footage, to get in touch.
