Flood warning as thunderstorm hits wales

Homes and businesses may flood quickly as thunderstorms hit parts of Wales, say forecasters.

A Met Office warning covering Flintshire and Wrexham started at 09:00 BST, and lasts until midnight on Saturday.

As much as 50mm of rain could fall in a short space of time in some locations, said the Met Office.

It added that fast flowing or deep flood water may pose a danger to life.

Heavy rain warning issued for East of England

There is a risk of flooding and travel disruption, says the Met Office.

Met office experts say the strong winds during Storm Goretti could have been due to a 'sting jet'.

Public transport may be disrupted and surface water flooding could follow the forecast heavy rain.

Rain fall may lead to flooding and travel disruption across south-east England, the Met Office warns.

The yellow weather warning, which covers 13 Welsh counties, could bring up to 70mm of rain.
