The M11 southbound carriageway was closed due to a serious crash, according to National Highways

A major road was closed following a serious collision.

The M11 southbound carriageway was shut between junction 10 near Duxford, Cambridgeshire, and Royston, Hertfordshire, and junction nine for Saffron Walden, Essex, at about 15:30 BST.

National Highways said the emergency services were in attendance alongside traffic officers.

A diversion route was put in place before the road fully reopened at about 17:40.
