Delays on M11 near Stansted Airport after crash

One lane of the M11 near Stansted Airport has been closed following a crash.

The northbound carriageway in Essex has been shut between junction eight for Stansted Airport and junction nine for Saffron Walden.

National Highways said there were delays for motorists of up to 45 minutes and congestion of about four miles after junction eight.

It later posted to X that all lanes had reopened but 30-minute delays remained but congestion was "easing".

Although the Conservative leader points out his teams are under "huge strain".

Essex Police says it has now built up an "accurate picture" of what happened in the "tragic" crash.

Det Sgt Nicolas Riley has been dismissed from his job and barred from policing.

Sue Stubley says she is "gutted" after £2m plans for the Long Acre Wildlife Hospital are refused.

The NHS trust says there is rising demand, causing "significant pressure" on hospitals.
