Debris from the lorry crash resulted in a separate collision, National Highways said

A major road was partially closed after a lorry struck a bridge and debris caused another crash.

The A14's eastbound carriageway was shut between junction 49 at Tot Hill and junction 50 near Stowmarket in Suffolk as a result of both collisions.

At 09:33 GMT, National Highways warned drivers to expect delays and motorists were diverted. There was about four miles (6km) worth of congestion.

The road was cleared and reopened at about 13:30 GMT.
