Police hunt fan who threw smoke bombs at Caley Thistle game
BBCPolice in the Highlands are hunting for an Inverness Caley Thistle fan who threw two "highly dangerous" pyrotechnics onto the pitch.
The blue smoke bombs resulted in the referee temporarily halting Inverness' game with Hamilton on December 13.
Police Scotland said an unidentified attendee threw the devices onto the pitch from the West terrace at Caledonian Stadium.
The force said it has a "zero-tolerance" approach to pyrotechnics.
A spokesperson added: "Taking pyrotechnics into a sporting stadium is a criminal offence and highly dangerous.
"Inquiries are ongoing to identify the person responsible."
Caley Thistle previously said it feared it could face financial implications over the incident, and threatened to ban supporters who threw pyrotechnics.
Last year, a probe was launched after a 13-year-old boy was injured when he was struck with a pyrotechnic at Inverness' stadium.
The use of pyrotechnics in Scottish football has risen in recent years, with action called for to tackle the issue.
The Scottish government is consulting on whether to extend powers to ban football fans from games for offences like using pyrotechnics and online abuse.
