Flights linking Inverness and Dublin to return in May
Getty ImagesDirect flights between Inverness and Dublin are set to return later this year.
Irish operator Emerald Airlines will run the twice weekly services, which it hopes will be popular with both business and leisure travellers.
The return flights, due to launch on 21 May, will be on Thursday and Sunday afternoons.
Glasgow-based regional airline Loganair stopped its Inverness to Dublin service in 2024.
Emerald Airlines has a franchise agreement with the larger Irish carrier Aer Lingus.
Inverness Airport manager Dan Mason said it was exciting to see the return of direct flights.
He said it restored a route that had been missed by passengers across the Highlands and Islands.
"This service not only reconnects the region with Ireland's capital but it also provides onward access to North America via Aer Lingus transatlantic flights, including New York and Boston, with convenient connection times through Dublin," said Mr Mason.
Ian Lough, head of commercial at Emerald Airlines, said the company was delighted to launch the new service.
