Gas works in town's high street due to begin

Work to upgrade the gas network in a west Berkshire town will start on Monday.

High Street in Hungerford is expected to be affected until mid-February and work will start outside Hungerford Town Hall, Wales & West Utilities plans show.

It said its works is "vital to ensuring gas continues to flow safely and reliably to homes and businesses across the area".

Multi-way traffic lights are expected to be installed and the town's market planned for Wednesday is not expected to be held.
