Teens charged with attempted murder at bus station

Two teenagers have been charged with attempted murder following the stabbing of a 16-year-old boy at a bus station.

Cambridgeshire Police was called to reports of violence outside Peterborough's Queensgate shopping centre just before 18:00 GMT on Thursday.

The victim was taken to Peterborough City Hospital. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

A 17-year-old boy from the city and a 16-year-old boy from Huntingdon have been charged with attempted murder. Both have also been charged with possession of a knife, with the older one also charged with affray and attempted robbery.

The 17-year-old was due to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on Saturday, while the younger boy was due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates' Court on Monday.
