Boy, 17, arrested after bus station stabbing

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed at the bus station at Peterborough's Queensgate shopping centre.

Cambridgeshire Police was called to reports of violence at the bus station, off Westgate, just before 18:00 GMT on Thursday.

The stab victim was taken to Peterborough City Hospital. His injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

The other teenager, who was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm, was taken into police custody.

The bus station and a nearby underpass were closed by the police while the incident was ongoing. They have since reopened.
