The vote that could impact seven wards in Maidenhead will take place 19 March

A referendum is set to be held in Maidenhead on whether to adopt a new neighbourhood plan that would guide development in the town until 2039.

Residents will take to the polls on 19 March and their decision will shape planning decisions in the Belmont, Boyn Hill, Furze Platt, Oldfield, Pinkneys Green, Riverside and St Mary's wards.

The plan proposes guidance in areas including managing the height, scale and design of new buildings.

Eligible voters can take part in person or by post but residents who have not already registered must do so by 3 March. Postal votes must be submitted by the end of the working day on 4 March.

The neighbourhood plan has been prepared by the Maidenhead Neighbourhood Forum, a group of residents and businesses recognised by the council.

It was put out to public consultation in September and October 2025.
