Deer marooned on River Thames island rescued
Getty ImagesA deer that had got itself stranded on an island in the River Thames was rescued by firefighters.
It took crews about two hours and 15 minutes to use a boat, rescue the deer and bring it back to the banks of the river in Hurley, Berkshire, at about 14:15 GMT on Thursday.
A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Maidenhead and Reading helped with the rescue, along with another from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A team from Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue also helped bring the deer back.
