Snow has fallen over parts of Scotland that were covered by Met Office yellow weather warnings for wintry weather.

An alert for snow was in place earlier for mainland areas - including Highlands, Aberdeenshire, Perth and Kinross and Orkney.

A separate warning for snow that was issued for Shetland has also expired.

However, parts of Aberdeenshire, including Ballater, Alford and Inverurie, have a yellow weather warning for heavy rain until midday on Thursday.
