Call for increased sailings on Loch Linnhe passenger ferry
Getty ImagesResidents on Lochaber's Ardnamurchan peninsula are calling for more sailings on a passenger ferry serving the west side of Loch Linnhe.
The Camusnagaul Ferry plies a route from Ardgour to Fort William and is about eight miles (13km) north of the larger Corran Ferry, which also carries vehicles.
Ardgour Community Council chairman Michael Foxley said it was a "vital" service, especially for people who do not have access to a car, and there have been calls for it to come under a national free bus travel scheme for young people.
Highland Council said extra sailings were provided when issues affected the Corran Ferry, but added it had no plans for a permanent increase in the service at this time.
A spokesperson for the local authority said it was looking into the possibility of supporting free under-22 travel on the ferry.
