Old labrador rescued after falling down 18ft well
Taunton Fire StationAn old black labrador was rescued by firefighters from three stations after falling down an 18ft (5.5m) well.
Jackson, 11, had to tread water "for some time" while the fire teams pumped out water before lifting him out with ropes.
The dog was unharmed but needed a long rest following the misadventure on Sunday morning in Somerset, owner Aymee Smith said.
She thanked Taunton and Bridgwater fire stations, writing on Facebook: "Massive thank you again, you were all amazing!"
Taunton Fire StationMs Smith, who has owned Jackson since he was seven weeks old, added: "He's spent the whole afternoon sleeping, just thankful he's OK."
Fire crews had been called to the well, which was on a private property in Middlezoy, at around 10:35 BST on Sunday.
