Police licensing officers said they found men playing poker in a backroom at the pub

A pub's licence has been suspended for three months after "continual breaches" and a man has been stripped of the responsibility of running it.

Felix Calin was responsible for the LA Study Pub in High Street, Slough, but Thames Valley Police licensing officers said he had routinely allowed illegal gambling and smoking there.

Licensing officers said they visited the pub and found issues in April, May, June, September and October and Mr Calin had "complete disregard for the law".

Slough Council's licensing sub-committee removed Mr Calin from the role of designated premises supervisor (DPS) and the pub will need to display a "yellow card" to indicate its current issues for 12 months.

The committee was told that on one occasion at the pub, Mr Calin was asked who he was by a police officer and that he said he was a cleaner.

The pub will need to be reinspected by officers, including those from Thames Valley Police, before it will be able to operate with a licence again.
