Strong winds lead to further ferry cancellations
IOMSPCPassengers have been warned of more disruption to ferry sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire due to strong winds over the Irish Sea.
The morning crossing to Heysham Port departed at 08:00 GMT, but its afternoon Douglas-bound return and the evening sailing have both been called off.
It follows the resumption of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's sailings overnight after similar cancellations on Tuesday due to the adverse conditions.
A yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping around the time of high tide has also been issued by Ronaldsway Met Office.
Forecasters said there was a risk that the winds would see some waves breaking on to coastal roads, bringing debris onshore between 10:45 and 14:45.
Areas expected to be at risk were Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey promenades, and parts of Shore Road in Rushen, the Met Office said, with Castletown promenade also likely to be affected to a lesser extent.
