Two of Tuesday's Manxman sailings have been cancelled

Strong winds have led to the cancellation of two of Tuesday's ferry sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said the 13:45 GMT sailing from Heysham to Douglas along with the evening's 19:15 crossing had been called off.

Ronaldsway Met Office said winds of up to 45mph (72km/h) were expected to hit the island in the afternoon.

Forecasters have also warned of a risk of coastal overtopping around the time of high tide at midday.
