Four arrests over fatal head-on car crash
Phil TaylorFour people have been arrested over a head-on crash involving a taxi and a car which killed four people in Greater Manchester.
Taxi driver Masrob Ali, 54, from Blackburn, and Muhammad Danyaal Asghar Ali, 19, Farhan Patel, 18, and Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, 18, all from Bolton, died in the collision on Wigan Road, Bolton, on 11 January.
The arrests were made in Bolton earlier as officers continue their investigation, Greater Manchester Police said.
A woman, 42, and man, 46, were held on suspicion of fraud offences while a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and another man, 18, was held on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking.
Five passengers from both vehicles were also taken to hospital.
A woman who suffered life-threatening injuries is now in a stable condition, police said.
The force said the arrests took place at addresses in Ladybridge and Bolton town centre.
Det Insp Andrew Page said officers were still appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
He added: "Anyone who saw the vehicle driving before the collision, witnessed the incident itself, or has dashcam or CCTV footage can share it with us."
