Creative university carries out £2.1m expansion
BIMM University A screen and film school as well as a performers college at a Birmingham university have undergone a £2.1m expansion.
A studio theatre, with retractable seating and an audience capacity of 120, was built along with four dance studios at the Performers College at BIMM University.
Additions at the Screen and Film School include a second film studio.
The university, which has campuses in the UK, the Republic of Ireland and Germany, also has a music institute at its site in Digbeth.
Performers College head of school Adam Davenport said he was confident the new additions would "complement the city’s thriving performing arts scene".
The standard of the facilities could allow Birmingham students to get training while potentially living at home and not having to go to London, he added.
BIMM University The university provides courses in modern music, performing arts, creative technology and filmmaking to 9,500 students across its eight campuses.
