Teenager arrested after 100mph police chase
BBC/Seb CheerA teenager has been arrested after a 100 mph police chase across two counties, officers said.
The 17-year-old was arrested after a Jaguar car was reported missing from an address in Selby, North Yorkshire, on Tuesday morning.
The pursuit began when officers tried to stop the vehicle at 09:20 GMT before it travelled at high-speed along the A65 from Skipton to Otley, West Yorkshire, via Ilkley.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, burglary, failing to stop for police, criminal damage, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and resisting arrest, North Yorkshire Police said.
He remains in custody, the force added.
A force spokesperson said: "Several specialist units were sent to the area to help intercept the vehicle along with our colleagues from West Yorkshire Police.
"Thankfully, no members of the public were injured. We appreciate the public's patience and cooperation while Bridge Street in Otley was temporarily blocked."
