A63 to close for 28 nights for final phase of work
Baxter MediaA section of the A63 in Hull city centre will be closed overnight throughout January, National Highways has announced.
Work started in 2020 on the £355m Castle Street project to build a new split-level junction which involves lowering part of the busy road through an underpass.
National Highways said the latest work would focus on installing technology, such as lights, electronic message boards and signage.
Project manager Frances Oliver said the scheme was "still on track to complete in spring 2026".
The scheduled closures will affect the eastbound and westbound carriageways near Mytongate between 20:00 and 06:00 GMT for 28 nights running from Monday 5 January until Sunday 1 February.
Thomas Thornton/ BBCWork was due to finish by April 2025, but that was delayed by a year due to "extremely challenging ground conditions", National Highways said.
Ms Oliver said the underpass would be the first part of the scheme to open, before the junction between Ferensway and Commercial Road is finished.
She thanked the public for their patience "as we work on this critical last phase of the project".
"It is a hugely complex scheme and has taken us some time to deliver," she added.
