Police made the arrests after officers raided properties in Grimsby and Cleethorpes

Ten men have been arrested after several people became ill on Saturday after taking drugs, Humberside Police said.

Four people were found unresponsive in the East Marsh area of Grimsby after they were believed to have overdosed on suspected heroin and a synthetic amphetamine, the force added.

Officers raided a number of properties in Grimsby and Cleethorpes and recovered drugs, money and mobile phones.

The arrested men, aged from 18 to 39, are being held on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

Det Insp Tom Kelly said: "Extensive inquiries remain ongoing as we continue to ascertain the full circumstances of this incident.

"However I can confirm we do suspect the reports of four people attending the hospital to be linked to the supply of class A drugs."

He added: "We continue to work alongside the local authority, drugs and alcohol treatment services and the hospital trust to provide the appropriate support and advice to those who have been affected."
