Two teenagers found guilty of raping woman in Hull
PA MediaTwo teenage boys have been found guilty of raping a woman in Hull.
The boys, 15 and 17, who cannot be named due to their ages, were also convicted of false imprisonment and assault in relation to the incident on 3 July last year.
The younger teenager was also found guilty of sexual assault in connection with a separate attack involving a teenage girl in June.
Both have been remanded into custody and are due to be sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court on 13 March.
On Wednesday, both defendants were found guilty by the jury of three counts of rape, false imprisonment and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but not guilty of intentional suffocation.
'Violent and sexual attack'
The jury in the trial heard the two boys had committed "a violent and sexual attack" after the victim had initially agreed to have sex with them for money.
"For that reason she had agreed to follow them to a derelict property," prosecutor Claire Holmes told the court.
She said after the woman realised the boys were not going to pay, she asked to leave but was held against her will.
"They had no intention of paying - they beat her, suffocated her and wouldn't allow her to leave," the barrister said.
"The violence only stopped when she submitted to have sex. That's not a free choice at all," she added.
"It was very clear she did not agree to sex at the time they had it."
Giving evidence, the teenagers accepted they went to the house but denied having sex or raping the woman and disputed her account of what happened inside.
The 17-year-old claimed he had no knowledge of any agreement to pay for sex and reluctantly went to the derelict house with his friend.
The 15-year-old said before they walked to the house, the woman had told him she was "dealing with sex" and "naughty stuff".
He claimed she had initially said they could have sex with her in exchange for £40 but that she later accepted £10 and a packet of cigarettes.
However, he denied having sex "in any way" with the woman in the house.
The court heard the woman's injuries, which included bruising to her face and thighs, supported her version of events.
The 15-year-old was also found guilty of sexually assaulting a girl he met in a nearby park.
Holmes said he had touched the girl over her clothing after his advances were rejected.
The incident was reported to police at the time, but the teenager identified her attacker as a suspect in the July attack following an appeal from Humberside Police.
