Four teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to an attack on Hawthorn Crescent in Cosham, Portsmouth, shortly before 14:30 GMT on Thursday.

Officers said a 31-year-old man was in a serious but stable condition in hospital after suffering a stabbing injury to his leg.

Three 18-year-olds - two from Portsmouth and one from Southampton - were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and having a blade in public, while a 19-year-old from Southampton was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

Officers have appealed for information from witnesses

Two men, aged 29 and 21 from Portsmouth, have also been arrested on suspicion of intimidating a witness.

All suspects remain in police custody and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant video footage to get in contact.
