Commuters are still unable to travel in parts of Nottinghamshire as work continues to recover a tram after a crash.

A Hucknall-bound tram was derailed in a crash with a double-decker bus in Inham Road, Chilwell, on Thursday morning.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service attended and said all passengers were safe and some were treated for their injuries at the scene.

On Friday, Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said there was still no service between the Toton Lane in Toton and Bramcote Lane stop in Chilwell, and that work to either rerail or remove the damaged tram was ongoing.

Buses are running between both stops, picking up and dropping off at the Sandby Court bus stop in Bramcote Lane and the Toton Lane park and ride, NET added.

Nottingham City Transport said on Friday the Orange 36 service was diverting in the Chilwell area following the crash.

"We are unable to serve any stop on Inham Road or Field Lane," the service said.

"Please make your way to Bramcote Lane, but wait on the opposite side of the road to normal.

"Buses arriving at Chilwell are normal route to Bramcote Lane, then continue Bramcote Lane, School Lane, left High Road to resume normal route from Cator Lane.

"Customers on Bramcote Lane, Cator Lane and Bramcote Avenue, catch buses from stops on the opposite side of the road for Beeston and the city."
