A cordon has been lifted after a suspicious object was found in a park in Hucknall.

Nottinghamshire Police said explosive ordinance disposal engineers were called to Merlin Park in Airfield Way on Friday.

A cordon was put in place while officers dealt with the report and residents were asked to avoid the area.

Officers confirmed the object had been removed and thanked people for their patience. No further details about the object have been shared but the BBC has contacted the force.
