Fire crews were called to multiple incidents of vehicles stuck in floodwater
Drivers were urged not to use the submerged Sturminster Newton town bridge

Flooding caused damage and disruption throughout Dorset on Tuesday as Storm Chandra swept the region.

Homes and businesses were affected and many motorists were stuck in traffic as they struggled find open routes to get home at the end of the day.

Firefighters attended "back-to-back" calls from motorists stuck in floodwater and 40 separate roads were closed.

Problems continued on Wednesday when many areas remained under water.
