Badger spotted swimming through floodwaters
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire ServiceA badger has been spotted trying to cross a flooded road in Dorset.
It was captured on camera by fire crews attending an incident on Slyers Lane in the Cokers Frome area of Dorchester.
They were called at 12:04 GMT following reports that two vehicles were stuck in floodwater. While there, they spotted the animal swimming across the road.
The Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service is warning people to only travel if necessary, and not to drive through flood water, which "sometimes can be deeper than you think".
Happily, the badger made it safely to dry land on the other side.
Two people were rescued by the fire service.
There has been widespread flooding across Dorset, with road closures, and flood warnings in place.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire ServiceIn a separate incident in Dorset, a fire crew has documented the rescue of a puppy.
The team from Ferndown fire station said it had worked with Poole's Tech Rescue to save Pup Roxy, after she was spotted being washed down a flooded river in West Moors.
The pictures show how Roxy was wrapped in a towel and put into a carrier, before being paddled down the flooded river in an inflatable dinghy.
Once back on dry land, she was reunited with her owners.
