About 60 firefighters have been tackling a fire in a thatched house overnight.

The fire broke out at the home in Chedington Lane, Mosterton, near Beaminster, Dorset, on Thursday at about 14:40 GMT with 19 appliances sent to the blaze at its height.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said overnight crews were scaled back to three with firefighters checking for hotspots using thermal imaging cameras and working to salvage belongings from the home.

The fire service said no injuries had been reported and a fire investigation was set to be carried out.
