Head2Head is running a second memory cafe in Oxted after the success of the events at its site near South Godstone

A charity is running a "memory cafe" at a second location after securing council funding and donations from the public.

Head2Head Sensory Theatre regularly runs the events for people with memory loss at its site near South Godstone, Surrey and will run additional events in nearby Oxted from Monday.

The charity, which started off as a theatre group for young people with disabilities, described the events as a "safe, welcoming and relaxed space" for people living with dementia and their carers.

Following a prior appeal for volunteers and for donations of tea, biscuits and jigsaws, Head2Head received 200 puzzles.

Its chief executive, Anni Rhodes-Steere, said the organisation now planned to organise jigsaw cafe events aimed at people who are lonely, elderly or frail thanks to the donations.

Memory Cafe events are due to take place every Monday at 14:00 GMT as The Park Hub in Master Park, Oxted and cost £5.
