The Official Monster Raving Loony Party have unveiled their candidate Sir Oink-a-Lot for the upcoming Gorton and Denton by-election.

The party said it was "hamming it up and bringing home the bacon" with their "local candidate", who was "the whole hog".

Sir Oink-a-Lot's campaign slogan is "Think Big, Vote Pig".

The Greater Manchester by-election follows the resignation of the area's former MP Andrew Gwynne on health grounds.

The Monster Raving Loony Party fielded its first candidate in a parliamentary election in 1983, and claims to bring "frivolity to otherwise dull elections".

Since its inception, the party has put up candidates including R. U. Seerius, The Flying Brick, Bananaman Owen, Mad Cow-Girl, and Lady Lily The Pink.
