An author and YouTuber has been announced as the candidate representing new right-wing party Advance UK in the forthcoming Gorton and Denton by-election in Greater Manchester.

Nick Buckley, 47, said: "We are a brand new party and hoping to make a difference in the country and in Gorton and Denton."

Buckley, who stood for the Greater Manchester mayoral elections as an independent, said he wants to clamp down on knife crime and anti-social behaviour.

The by-election was triggered by the resignation on health grounds of former Labour MP Andrew Gwynne.
