City plans £10m on road and pothole repairs

Potholes are set to be filled and roads repaired in a city as a council prepares to spend £10m across a year.

New road resurfacing and other improvements will take place as part of the City of Wolverhampton's budget plans for 2025-26.

The project will also see street lights and car park technology upgraded as well as road safety schemes, including enforcement action on parking outside schools

The plans are set to be reviewed by the local authority's scrutiny board on Tuesday and its cabinet on 18 February for approval.

The planned improvements include:

  • Resurfacing and relining Chapel Ash Island, Ring Road St George's, Stafford Road Three Tuns Lane Roundabout, Wobaston Road and Droveway, Mander Street, Price Street
  • Surface treatment works for Penn Road, Stowheath Lane, Stafford Street, Cannock Road, Prestwood Road West, Thorneycroft Lane, Victoria Road, Mount Road, Old Heath Road
  • Footpath upgrades on Castlecroft Road and Cannock Road
