Award-winning tradtronica band Huartan are among the acts set to appear at this year's Skye Live music festival in Portree.

The event, now in its 11th year, will also feature Mànran, Trail West and Dougie MacLean as well as DJ sets.

Belfast-based Huartan champion tradtronica - described as traditional Irish music fused with modern electronic sounds - and have a striking stage presence featuring masked performers.

They won BBC Introducing's Northern Irish Artist of the Year 2025.

Huartan use imagery of pre-Christian Ireland on stage wearing masks to depict mythical supernatural beings

Skye Live likened them to festival favourites Niteworks adding that they were buzzing to welcome Huartan to the Portree event, which will be held between 7 and 9 May.

The organisers said: "We caught their live show late last year and it completely blew us away."

MacLean's best-known songs include Caledonia, while bands Mànran and Trail West are big names on the traditional music scene.
