Forty-two roads to be improved within a week

Forty-two roads in Grimsby and Humberston will be improved over the next week, the council has said.

The roads, which include Algernon Street, Heneage Road and Oxford Street in Grimsby, and Andrew Road, Burcom Avenue and Queen Elizabeth Road in Humberston, will be resurfaced.

The work is due to begin on Saturday 30 August and expected to be finished by Thursday, 4 September, with a full daily road closure in place between 07:30 BST and 18:00.

North East Lincolnshire Council said on-street parking will be suspended to allow the work to take place and has asked people not to park vehicles on the road or footpath.

Advance warning signs will be put up to help people plan their day, the authority added.

To avoid the build-up of loose materials on the road, the contractor will carry out a road sweeping programme, which includes three sweeps over a 30-day period to remove any excess material.
