A road is partly closed after as repair work is carried out on a hole that has opened up in Wolverhampton.

The city council said it temporarily closed part of Lower Street on Tuesday to allow Seven Trent Water to "carry out repair work to its mains leak".

A spokesperson for the water firm said its workers were at the scene and the road had been closed while it investigated.

"We understand this might be an inconvenience, and we'd like to thank everyone for their patience while we resolve the problem," they added.
