A serial thief who stole from several stores at a retail park has been jailed.

A member of the public alerted police on patrol that Luke Dhear had been acting suspiciously and was believed to be taking items from the shelves of one of the shops at Bentley Bridge Retail Park in Wolverhampton.

The 36-year-old headed off towards Rookery Street, Wednesfield, and following a search of the area he was found along with a large red bag filled with stolen items worth £250, West Midlands Police said.

He pleaded guilty to 11 counts of theft, five relating to One Stop, and one each linked to stores Holland and Barrett, Boots, B&M, Farmfoods, Card Factory and Hobbycraft.

Dhear was also found to be on recall to prison for previous offences, police said.

After appearing at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on 12 March he was handed a six-month prison sentence.
