Surrey Police said officers were called to the A308 Staines bypass, between the Fordbridge and Crooked Billet Roundabout, shortly after 17:30 GMT on 6 December.
The woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, remains in hospital while the driver stayed at the scene and has been assisting police, said the force.
Officers were particularly interested in the movements of a green BMW 4 Series in the moments leading up to the collision, it added.
Witnesses to the crash or anyone with relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
