E-scooter rider dies after crash with car
Getty ImagesAn 18-year-old e-scooter rider has died after being involved in a crash with a car, police have said.
After the incident, which happened on St Paul's Road near the junction with Folly Lane, in Cheltenham at about 23:00 GMT on Saturday, the car involved drove away, Gloucestershire Police said.
The e-scooter rider was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, but died there on Sunday.
A man in his 20s from Cheltenham was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and then rearrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Four other people were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but have since been released under investigation.
A car matching the description of the one involved - a white Kia - has been seized by police.
The officers investigating the fatal collision are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed it or may have dashcam footage.
