Police are appealing for dashcam footage or witnesses after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday morning.

West Mercia Police said it happened in Ellesmere between 12:40 and 01:50 GMT.

The vehicle did not stop at the scene and the man, in his 40s, sustained life-changing injuries and remains in hospital.

The force is looking to speak to anyone who saw or has footage of the pedestrian walking from the Ellesmere Hotel towards Eastwick along the B5068 during the early hours.

It is also looking for information about any vehicles that were seen acting suspiciously at the time, or any with collision damage consistent with the incident.
