The owners of a planned dessert shop have applied for a licence to sell sweet treats until the early hours of the morning.

Kokosdesserts Ltd made the application to Bradford Council stay open and serving until 05:00 each day from their Manville Terrace site.

Work has already begun on the intended confectionery outlet.

The council said local residents have until 24 February to comment on the plans.

The parlour is a short distance from the University of Bradford and Bradford College and the business unit was previously home to a takeaway called China Wings, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Located nearby on the same street, the owners of L.A. Krispy Ltd have applied for a similar licence.

They have asked for permission to serve food until 03:00 on Friday and Saturday, and until 01:00 Sunday to Thursday.

People have until February 17 to comment on those plans.
